WHAT NP ARTICLE? In 1995 after the WT article, many newspapers ran the story. I think the LA Times had a religion section every Saturday and they covered it. The article as I remember was very direct and specific on the change.

When we got home Kathy gave me a big hug and whispered softly in my ear...never bring anyone one into our bussiness agian, ever...especialy those idiots. The rest was history...last kh meeting I ever attended.
My wife and I made a pact, NEVER to tell the elders anything.
There is a saying at work that I apply at home, When a supervisor says, tell me the truth, nothing is going to happen, "Start Lying Immediately" and Stick to your story, do NOT change.
Chances are, not admiting guilt puts the burden of proof on them, not you.

Bad news recently- blood issue causes some of Canadian sextuplets trouble, government takes them away.
This has been occuring for MANY years. Some stories are more sensationalized than others. This became more acceptable when the fear of AIDS in blood banks was prevelant in the late 80's.

Yes, it was an article in many newspapers. Guys at work said the end of the world has been delayed after the NP article. 1914 generation was the foundation for being alert (these people are xx years old, they can't go on forever......). Now it is gone with an open end.
Franz blew the doors off of secrets. Some things in his books are hapening now.

I know of a brother who was about to be apppointed MS. He told the elders he masturbated and wanted to wait until the next CO visit. They said sure. His career was over from that point on.
He was stripped of all privilleges and told to pray more. He married a bad witness woman and had mental problems, never to recover from telling the truth at 19.

1995 was very bad. I heard it from many at work. The blood thing has occurred for years. Nothing new, just twisted scriptures.
More doctrine changes will be very bad. The faithful will start to question their foundation if this continues.

The appeal committee threw out the original decision and it was then reproof. But they always had a down on her after that. Last I heard she had faded
I have never heard of this hapening before.

Before getting married to my wife, I was at the beach kissing in the parking lot. Three cars cornered me in and sat motionless behind me with the gang member occupants sitting outside. I saw what was happening. I carried 2 guns (A pioneer with guys, this is LA though). While my future wife was in the seat, I waved a gun to allow them to see what was about to occur. They left the scene.
My future wife called me the next day, I ignored her. I eventually ignored her about 18 times over the next 2 weeks. Not sure why? I think it was because I was soooooooooooo cool.
While at the meeting, one of the elders said after I was done in the magazine room to come see him. I said ok.
When I approached him, he called two other elders and they had a judicial meeting with me. I was TRAPPED!!!
They said I had a sister at the beach and tried to have my way with her. In a forcible way. They said she screamed and other people around made me leave her alone. They allowed me to work the sound, have a part on the meeting and do the magazines then prepare to disfellowship me.
I was worried about her seeing the gun, but her conscious was bothering her, so she told an elder than we were at the Santa Monica pier at 0200 kissing. That was it. The elder made up the entire story. He lied on me. He is still the presiding overseer. He dated my wife's sister and had a crush on my wife. Despite the fact that I was on the Dodger Stadium assembly (in front of 55k people) with this guy, he lied on me. He wanted me DF.
They had me convinced that I had fondled her and I actually had to question myself. I assumed the sister made these comments. The elder said she did, but he lied.
I said let's get a meeting with all parties involved. They dropped the issue.

My Mom died yesterday

she was a die-hard jw.
i tried to explain why i couldn't accept certain teachings but rather than rationally consider what i had to say she chose to believe i was just "confused".

So sorry for your loss.
My parents were baptized in the 50's and were die hards. I presented the facts to my mom one day and she said she knew it was not true, but this is all she had after 40+ years. I accepted this and she accepted me. Many of her friends had breakdowns prior to their death. They could not accept dying in this world.
I purchased my mother a new house in 2000, October. Dementia hit my father severly as a result of the change. She was alone in a new city and cared for my dad by herself. She died 3 months later. The paramedic did not know how to open the door on the ambulance. She was in the cold for quite some time. She lost oxygen and went into a coma for nearly a month.
My JW wife could not make the meetings for months caring for my sick father. The witnesses said she should bring my dad despite his mental condition. People from bethel would give examples of New Yorkers that were under the same circumstances and were sooooo successful, because Jah blessed them. So encouraging.
My father said before entering a coma, this is the end.
The end of what dad?
This system of things!!
My dad could never speak again. He was in a coma for 21 days. Upon visiting him in a nursing home on Day 22, I touched his cold dead body. I cried and talked to him for an hour or more. The Nursing home called me 6 hours later to announce my dad was dead.
Faithful witnesses for over 90 years. Many assemblies, meetings and sacrafices made by the family for what?
A very unbeautiful death.
What an ending!!!!
I wish the best for you and pray that you have the strengh to carry on strong. We do not know where the road will lead, but dependence on God, prayer, photos and memories can be a sustaining food through this darkness.
